My first memory of realization, was at 13, i was cutting and using my blood to write what i wanted, then burning it.. This came as a natural thing to do. since then, ive read damn near all the books on witchraft written before and after, (i had a witch-store, and sat and read 10000's of hours) and have spoken with a few of the living authors in search of the true old ways. there was/is a true witchcraft.
I cannot speak for witches in general. but I'm thinking, way before "Wicca" was a word, There was true witchcraft. I want to re-descover That! I want to bring it back! any thoughts?

Has anyone used the rituals from Raven Grimmassi's books? They are very good. he comes from a long line of Italian Witches, and shares his familys secrets. I reccomend "Ways of the Strega". the protective pentagram spell is excellent, i feel alot of power from it. it charges your pentagram necklace to give you a protective edge against ppl and their sorcerys.

Hello all, new to this board. I would first like to say that paths are your own, and there are many to choose from, which are all connected. However, when it comes to the difference between witchcraft, and wicca....at the risk of making enemies, or upsetting anyone... they are two completely different worlds. Much like the difference between Hitler, and the skinheads of today. Wicca is essentially hippie paganism! They care not for the laws and rites of the ancients, and have little if any understanding of what our kind of gone through. The fact that it is an open organized religion testifies to that fact. It is and has been underground and closed off for centuries for very good reason! It is not meant for the eyes of most. Wicca, in my view, is nothing more than self righteous defiance of christianity and other religions, with absolutely no understanding of what it is to be a witch. I have talked with countless people, who just wake up one day, and decide it would be a really neat idea to become something that they are not. I was born into being what i am, and as anyone who is familiar with the old rites clearly knows there are only 2 ways to become a witch. I apologize for the length and the ranting, but this is a really sore subject for me, and i had to get it off my chest.
I have never seen a vision, nor learned a secret that would damn or save my soul. |

Sinz of flesh thanks for sharing. I must ask a simple question, you mentioned there are two ways to become a witch- to be born as one but you did not mention the other way. Would you please share?

...no problem, sorry i tend to think faster than i can type. The other way is to become an apprentice, to which the teachings are passed on. Of course, the process of proving oneself worthy can take many years, aside from the actual studying itself.

Sinz of the Flesh Thanks! I have always lived in a small town and it's hard to find a Witch to learn from. I have studied many magickal paths and talked with and learned from many people and many books. I look inside myself and ask the old ones and nature for help in learning the right path for me. I hope someday to find a true teacher to show me more. Some say that when the student is ready the teacher will come. I wait.

anytime! It seems that you are definitely on the right path already. Just be patient, and continue on. It will come, when the time is right. Allthough, it is obviously forbidden to divulge the secrets openly...I am always happy to answer any general questions that I am able to.

Myself, Ive never sought the answers from "teachers",.. personlly.. it seems that the answers come randomly from ppl I feel attacted to or even complete strangers, that just happen to say things that are deeply profound and then they do not even realize what truthful phrases theyve just spoken.
My very favourite came from an old man that everyone considers insane. he said: "Don't worry about it, Just have another glass of water".

very good point...an old friend of mine used to have the saying; "its something thats caught, not taught." but there are many things that cannot be learned like that. That is often one of the best ways to learn about yourself and others, i agree. However, depending on what it is youre looking for, some things do need to be given and taught.

Also True! I was just trying to say, some of my deepest insights have come from the strangest sources. A memory being the strangest one of all..
Like hey, ever remember something, and then it turns out that it didn't even happen at all?
It's that Woo Woo thing!

Like from another life?
Hey, as far as the two ways of becoming a witch, Do you think if one becomes a witch through apprenticeship or initiation, that the person would be born a witch in their next life?

Yes, once you have it, it is yours to keep. Carried with the soul through the lifetimes, which is exactly why it is so important to choose an apprentice wisely and carefully.

Tom, yea, I beleive in reincarnation; nothing I can prove, just a gut feeling. I also beleive we can reincarnate to other dimensions and or planets or universes... yes, I'm a wacko! haha
Sinz, I would think so. I have never apprenticed another, but have taught ppl bits and pieces of what I consider my knowledge now and then. I feel I was born with it in this life, and most of what is taught nowadays seemed to come natural. Like I knew it before I'd heard it or read it. I dont remember how I acquired the memories, but reincarnation makes alot of sense. from your last post, I take it you beleive in it as well?

Yeah...i do, there is no doubt in my mind at all, what other way can anyone explain the complete and utter differences in people's levels of knowledge and wisdom. It, of course, could be argued that the differences are from what is learned through a single lifetime; but that does not account for one who comes into the world being beyond the average person mentally, and spiritually.
